About

OUR SERVICES

Exercise Physiology

At Back-Fit we have a passion for identifying and correcting movement dysfunction that may be
causing pain or impacting the quality of a movement. As an Exercise Physiologist (EP) and allied health professional
we specialise in corrective exercise prescription and rehabilitation using scientific
evidence-based approaches. We provide expert movement and exercise advice and lifestyle strategies
to manage chronic illness and lifestyle disease, rehabilitate chronic pain and  injuries  and
improve general well-being.

All Exercise Physiologists must have a three or four year university degree and extensive practical experience in order to be accredited with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA). Rebates can be available for EP services from Medicare and all major private health funds. We will liaise with your GP or other treating health professionals if required for an integrated multidisciplinary approach.

REFERRALS

Work Related Injury and Workers Compensation

At Back-Fit Clinics, we know the vital role that functional exercise prescription plays in an injured worker's return to injury-free employment. Back-Fit Exercise Physiologists are trained to:

  • effectively and thoroughly assess each injured worker and provide a comprehensive initial and final report.

  • ensure correct muscle activation patterns during affected activities or movements.

  • transfer all strength and ROM advancements into pain-free work-related and functional activities. We recognise this step as being vital to an effective and long-term return to employment.

  • educate the injured worker as to safe manual-handling skills (pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, etc).

  • communicate regularly between all parties, whether it be the injured worker's treating GP, the insurer, the workplace return-to-work co-ordinator or other treating health professionals
